Beyond Acceptance and Validation: Embracing the Discomfort of Change in our Coaching Conversations

Acceptance and validation are foundational skills in ADHD coaching — but what happens when we stay too comfortable there? This presentation invites coaches to explore how partnering with clients to apply new learning, design meaningful action, and consider what lies ahead can unlock deeper awareness and lasting change. We’ll examine the productive discomfort that emerges when both coach and client lean into real exploration of change, and how sitting with that discomfort — rather than retreating to familiar reassurance — opens doors neither party expected. Walk away with practical approaches to celebrating your clients’ growth while supporting their agenda for change
